There are many observation decks in Okinawa Prefecture that offer spectacular views, and among them is an observation deck built on top of a public facility.
The observation deck is located in Okinawa City Hall, and you can visit for free during City Hall opening hours by applying at the general information desk on the first floor without making a reservation in advance.
The Okinawa City Hall building is built on Nakasone hill, which has a great view, at an altitude of 110m within the city limits, and there are no tall buildings near the observation deck that block the view, so you can enjoy a 360-degree view. On a clear day, you can see as far away as Tacchu on Ie Island, the Kerama Islands, and even Kudaka Island and the Chinen Peninsula.
I visited the Okinawa City Hall Observatory to see the most spectacular view in central Okinawa Island.
