After a memorable stay in Valdez, we make our way to Mountain View RV Park in Palmer, AK. During our stay in Palmer, Lynn and I were planning to go paddle boarding at a small lake nearby, but when we got there it was too weedy so we opted out.

However, the next day we took a Jeep ride to Independence Mine Historical Park located in the Talkeetna Mountains. The mine dates back to 1897. Very interesting combination of well restored buildings as well as some ruins. A small stream runs down through the center of the operation.

After touring the mine, we took a Jeep ride down a rough but very scenic road which took us to Hatcher Pass. We came across numerous holiday campers enjoying the beauty and serenity of the Talkeetna Mountains. Unfortunately, the video I took during this part of our journey got lost.

The next day, we hit the road to Seward, AK with our friends Dave and Dianne traveling behind us. As we traveled along the shores of Cook Inlet, we were welcomed to Alaska by a Train Engineer who greeted us with a hardy wave and a blast from his train horn. I acknowledged his greeting with a blast back from our Freightliner. The natives in Alaska can't be beat!

We stayed at the KOA Journey, just a few miles from down town Seward. The campground was neat and clean with beautiful views of a large flowage area and mountains directly across the road.

After we settled into our campsite, we headed to the Seward Marina. When we arrived, the fishermen were bringing in their catch for the day. There was quite a variety of fish brought in, including a large Ling Cod. After we walked around the Marina, Lynn and I went to Chinooks restaurant for a delicious seafood dinner.

The following day, our group boarded the Nanatuk tour boat to explore Resurrection Bay. Our first stop was Fox Island, where we enjoyed a delicious lunch and took in the beautiful sites around the small island.

As the Nanatuk departed the island, we headed out in search of marine wildlife. More specifically, Humpback Whales, Orca Whales, Puffins and Sea Lions. We were fortunate enough to have seen them all.

After we returned to shore, several of us drove a few miles from the campground to visit Bear Creek Weir. We saw salmon making their best effort to swim upstream fighting the current of a rapidly moving stream. It was very entertaining, but I have to admit, I felt bad for the salmon that tried multiple times with no success.

On July 3rd, Lynn and I had an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives. As we did our research to prepare for our trip, we discovered a company called Liquid Adventures who offered SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding) trips, as well as kayak trips, to the base of Bear Glacier. This was an excursion that we booked independently of our Fantasy RV Tour package.

I won't get into the details, but this excursion was the most exciting adventure I have ever experienced in my lifetime. So much so, that I created a separate video of the excursion which you can watch by clicking the following link:    • SUP Bear Glacier Alaska 2022 - Liquid...

To top off our day, Lynn and I decided to take a hike to get a closer look at Exit Glacier which was only a few miles from our campground.

Later that evening our fellow travelers invited Lynn and I to go to Seward for the 4th of July fireworks but we were exhausted from the day's events. Unfortunately, there was no gas left in the tank!

Hope you enjoy this video, it was a highlight of our trip! Please stay tuned, as we head to the Homer Spit!

THANKS FOR WATCHING!
