WHAT IS A MAGNETIC FIELD?
In 1820, Oersted (1775-1851), as a result of his studies, said that "if a current passes through a wire near the compass needle, the compass needle will deviate and if a current passes through a wire, a field is formed around the wire" and found that electric current creates a magnetic field.
Moving charged particles (eg electron) create a magnetic field. This magnetic field surrounds the charge in a circular manner. The law, called the Biot-Savart law in honor of Jean-Baptiste Biot and Félix Savart, shows that the strength of the magnetic field decreases as we move away from the charge, and allows us to easily find the direction of the magnetic field with the right-hand rule.

If the current-carrying wire is twisted, the magnetic field it creates begins to intensify. By increasing the number of folds, the intensity of the magnetic field can be increased and attractive forces can be created that are much stronger than a natural magnet. For this purpose, an electromagnet is obtained by placing an iron core inside the solenoids. Electromagnets are used in all areas of our lives today because the force of attraction can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the current.
A rotating magnetic field is when the direction of the magnetic field is constantly changing to a certain angular velocity. This is the basic working principle of the alternating current motor.
When a current carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field, a potential difference is produced in the direction perpendicular to both the current and the magnetic field. This phenomenon was first observed by Edwin Hall in 1879. The phenomenon is caused by the deflection of the charge carriers towards one side of the conductor due to the magnetic force they experience from the magnetic field. The Hall effect provides information about the sign and density of charge carriers and can also be used to measure the magnitude of magnetic fields.
