This is part of a series on the Magician Archetype by the Neo-Jungian analyst and creator of the King Warrior Magician Lover system, Dr. Robert Moore, in his lecture on "The Role of the Magician in Masculine Selfhood.” Recorded in 1989, we have digitally restored and enhanced the original audio for a better listening experience, although the quality is still lacking in parts. Nevertheless, some of the points discussed are even more relevant today than they were when it was recorded - a testament to the insight of Dr. Moore.

In this lecture, Dr. Robert Moore talks about:

The need for men to recognize the powers within themselves associated with each initiation and to develop a deeper understanding of these powers.

The significance of ritual leadership and containment in the process of initiation and becoming a guide for others.

The task of discernment, the challenge of initiation, and the role of the magician in uncovering evil and engaging in healing practices.

How the magician archetype is linked to the ability to discern, initiate, and understand tasks, playing a crucial role in locating oneself in the spaces of the psyche.

“A mark of the magus is that he is capable of discernment. What does that mean? He knows there's such a thing as evil, period.” - Dr Robert L. Moore (1942 - 2016)
