This video is on one of the most influential and complicated helmets in history. This is the American m1 steel helmet. This helmet was developed in 1941 to replace the m1917a1 helmet based off of the Brodie helmet design from wwi. This helmet would serve the United States military for 40 years with countless versions and variations throughout its service life. This helmet would be used in 3 of the biggest conflicts in American military history wwii, korea, and Vietnam. This helmet would also go on to I fly ace countless other designs and has been fielded at some point by almost every country on earth either directly or the rough a design influenced by the m1.
