1906දී ගම්පහ ඉඹුල්ගොඩ නම් ප්‍රදේශයේ උපත ලද දෝන ජෝර්ජියානා මෙරායා දෙනවක, දෙනවක හාමිනේ ලෙස ඇයගේ නම වෙනස් කරනු ලැබූයේ නිශ්චල ඡායාරූප ශිල්පී රැලෙක්ස් රණසිංහයන්ය. දෙනවක හාමිනේ සිනමාවට ඇතුලු වනූයේ වේදිකා රංගනය හරහාය. "ජී.ඩී.එල්. පෙරේරා" ගේ කඳුළු නාට්‍ය ඇයගේ මුල්ම නාට්‍යයයි. කඳුළු නාට්‍යයට ඇය සම්බන්ධ වනූයේ නිළියන්ගේ ආරක්ෂක නිලධාරිණිය ලෙසටය. ඇයට දිනක් කඳුළු නාට්‍යයහි එක් ජවනිකාවක් රඟපෑමට සිදු විය.
ජි.ඩි.එල් . පෙරේරා නම් වූ ප්‍රවීණ වේදිකා නාට්‍ය කරුවාගේ නාට්‍යයක් ඇසුරෙන් නිර්මාණය වූ 'සාමා' නම් වූ පළමු වෘතාන්ත චිත්‍රපටයේ අඩංගු ගීතයක්....
