In the first video in this two part series, I cut a large limb off an oak tree and inoculate it with shiitake mushroom plug spore. My spore dowels and sealing wax are from FungiPerfecti.com. [ no coupon yet ] Part 2 will be produced in 9-12 months, once the logs are fully colonized and ready to produce mushrooms.

Paul Stamets, owner of the company, is a well-known, mushroom guru. Here's is Paul’s inspiring Ted Talk on the power of mushrooms:    • 6 ways mushrooms can save the world |...

This is my second time purchasing plug spore from Fungi Perfecti, as my first set of logs had reached the end of their production time and it was time to make more. It was amazing to see a log sprouting mushrooms from spore that I put there. I know you'll love the process too. Thanks for watching.
