The festival is celebrated by Taoist communities around the world, with elaborate processions, ceremonies, and rituals taking place in honour of the Nine Emperor Gods. Worshippers typically observe a strict vegetarian diet during the festival, as a form of purification and spiritual cleansing.

At the Leong Nam Temple, worshippers gather to pray to the Nine Emperor Gods, offer incense and offerings, and participate in various rituals and ceremonies. The temple and the surrounding streets are adorned with vibrant decorations, and devotees dress in traditional white attire as a form of respect and devotion.
