Leaving the bustling streets of Rawalpindi behind, I embark on a road trip through the chaotic traffic of rickshaws and motorbikes, passing the old Chicken Hut airport in Islamabad! Memories of travel chaos flood back as I drive down the Islamabad Expressway, merging onto the scenic Sri Nagar Highway. Following the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) signs, I head towards the Burhan Interchange for a must-stop at Miah Jee restaurant.

At Miah Jee, the legendary Shahi daal—rich, creamy, and spiced to perfection—takes the spotlight, making it the highlight of my food stop. With my stomach full and my spirit satisfied, I continue the journey, passing charming small towns like Kamra PAC, Shamsabad, Waisa, and Shadi Khan, each adding a unique flavour to the trip.

Finally, I arrive at my ancestral village, Mallah, where the fresh air and slower pace bring a sense of peace. Join me on this scenic road trip filled with delicious food, smooth highways, and the beauty of Pakistan's heartland!
