Trickstar Burn! The cosmic surge of 2017 and the very reason they had to ban good o'l reincarnation! But do Trickstars still hold up in 2022 with Reincarnation and Light Stage at 1? Well, the awener is ... sometimes.
This is NOT a meta deck, and is classified under my "Fun Decks" which are essentially just "Non-Meta Decks". Meaning if you make these, you make them for fun use! The goal of this deck is to burn out your opponent's life points with things like Lycoris and their boss monster Holly Angel. With the help of trap cards such as "Secret Barrel" and "Disturbance Strategy", you're able to make plays pretty impactful in widdling down your opponents!

These Duels were recorded on my second account, which at the time was not Plat rank! So these are not Plat replays, these are just a few fun Gold Matches I had using Trickstars! I'll post a Plat video up against things like Eldlich and Drytron in the near future!

Tips and Tricks:
So like the good old days of Trickstars coming to life in the TCG/OCG, your biggest play will always be "Trickstar Candina" into "Trickstar Light Stage", "Trickstar Light Stage" into "Trickstar Lycoris", then "Trickstar Reincarnation" to hurt your opponent's hand. The issue with this strategy is that Konami has murdered "Trickstar Light Stage" and "Trickstar Reincarnation" 1. "Disturbance Strategy" is a really good substitute for Trickstar Reincarnation". It does not have its banish effect, but it does force your opponents hand back into the deck, and allow them to draw a new hand thus triggering "Trickstar Light Stage" and "Trickstar Lycoris" for some really good damage!

I don't get to show it in this video, though it is in the deck in the latter half, but "Chain Summoning" is a fantastic card for Trickstars! I did not know how good this card was until later in the video, but they are able to abuse the 3 normal summons easily, as "Trickstar Candina" is not a hard Once Per Turn effect!

"Dark Room of Nightmare" is also a really great card to have in this deck as ANY damage, no matter what type of Burn Damage, will trigger its effect. It's not limited to once per chain, either. So if you burn 5 times per chain, you'll get 5 effects of "Dark Room of Nightmare" for that chain. Its not limited or banned, so it's a must 3 copies of this card. "Secret Barrel" and "Secret Blast" are generic burn cards, but they are really helpful in making up for lost burn as we have 2 of our strongest cards limited to one.

"Droll and Lock Bird" is probably the most broken aspect of this deck, as combined with "Trickstar Reincarnation", he can remove your opponent's entire hand! This is one of the major reasons that "Trickstar Reincarnation" was limited to 1, so the strategy is not as effective as it once was... HOWEVER! Disturbance Strategy" is able to execute the same combo without the banish effect. But let's face it, in this game no hand and no field is pretty much game over! By activating "Trickstar Reincarnation" OR "Disturbance Strategy" first, THEN chaining "Droll and Lock Bird", will shuffle or banish their entire hand and then prevent them from gaining the new cards from the deck. Effectively locking them out of the duel. This is a really hard combo to get off as of now, because while "Disturbance Strategy" is a lot like "Trickstar Reincarnation", it cannot be searched by your Trickstar cards making it a "Have to get to" card in this deck.

Because of this, we do run "Pot of Desires" for more draw. Since "Pot of Desires" banishes 10 from your deck, you run the risk of banishing your only "Trickstar Light Stage" and "Trickstar Reincarnation". You COULD be safer and go another pot, but your Extra deck is jam-packed with Trickstar Link Monsters that could do some insane burn damage or just help you get over troublesome monsters like "Trickstar Black Catbat" and "Trickstar Foxglove Witch". I personally just found "Pot of Desires" easier to deal with, as I do have other burn options in case the previous two get banished.

I am NOT a professional player, especially not with Trickstars. 2016(ish) -19 was a break from the game for me, so I did not get the chance to really play Trickstars as much as I have been these last few days. So I WILL make misplays in these recordings, but if you want to point it out I guess that's fine too, lmao!

NEVER MAXX "C" TRICKSTARS! If your opponent uses "Maxx "C"" while you are playing Trickstars, just special summon out the butt. lol. You are going to burn them so bad if you have "Trickstar Lycoris" and they are just making your job easier!
