ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും ഉയരം കൂടിയ മോട്ടോർ-സ്‌പോർട്‌സ് ഇവന്റായ റെയ്ഡ് ഡി ഹിമാലയ 1999-ൽ ആണ് ആരംഭിച്ചത്വെ. റും 16 പേർ ആയിരുന്നു ആദ്യ വര്ഷം ഇതിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തത്.

ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും കഠിനമായ 10 റാലികളിൽ ഒന്നായി ഇത് കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ഓരോ വർഷവും ഏകദേശം 200 ഓളം മത്സരാർത്ഥികൾ ഈ വെല്ലുവിളി ഏറ്റെടുക്കുന്നു.

ഹിമാലയത്തിലെ കഠിനമായ സാഹചര്യങ്ങളിലൂടെ അവരുടെ കഴിവ് പരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
