This is the excavated site of Raja Harshavardhan's kingdom. This site is existed from 1 century BC. Raja Prabhakaravardhanan established the Pushyabhuti dynasty by joiningg the small kingdoms to defend the attacks from invaders. His son Rajyavardhan ruled after him, but soon was killed by opponents. The Raja Harshavardhanan came to the throne in his age of 16. The brave warrior defeated many kingdoms and extended his kingdom upto Assam and Andhra to south. He was a good ruler and many traders came to Thanesar, the capital of his kingdom through the silk route from different parts of the world. The kingdom flourished with gold and other wealth.

Mahmood Gasni invaded this kingdom in later years and looted the abundant treasure of this kingdom by demolishing palaces and temples. He had taken away all the wealth to Gasni.

Archeological Survey of India (ASI) is doing their excavations at this place and unearthed many demolished parts of the fort. We can see these site free of cost. One can reach here by Autorickshaw from Kurukshetra Bus stand or railway station easily.
