Take your doll, animal and monster projects to the next level by making your own hyper-realistic eyes! They are oven safe, inexpensive and easy to make. The depth and beauty is indescribable; pictures/video do not do them justice.

Since they are oven safe, eyes can be added right into raw clay during sculpt phase; just Add iris and gloss after baking. If project does not fit in UV lamp, direct sunlight will also do the trick.

Dremeling the glass bead will create a fine powder. It is not sharp to hands, but could potentially be harmful to eyes and lungs. To protect yourself use safety goggles and a mask.

Here is another video that shows how to add them in a polymer clay sculpture with a slightly updated technique:

The irises are easy to find on pintrest/google and come in many colors, sizes and pupil shapes. I've found that adding colored pencil adds not only the custom-look I desire, but masks the tiny printer dots. Magnification of iris and pupil will be more apparent with deeper dremel holes. Crayons, and markers also work! Pastels would probably look really nice! The customization ideas are endless.

Barbara England is the master mind behind dremeling of the glass beads. Her video gives in depth info on how to drill. It can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch/lat58 or her updated one here:    • How to make beautiful glass eyes for ...   She has a quite a few great eye videos and is a thorough teacher/guide.

Happy crafting my friend!
