Nick Gravenites is a legendary blues and rock artist, guitarist and composer who was on the Chicago blues scene starting in the late 50's, and in the San Francisco music scene from the 60's on.

In Part Three of this interview, (recorded in March 2023), Nick talks with Dan McClosky about Charlie Musselwhite, Janice Joplin, Bill Graham, the Electric Flag, and extensively about Mike Bloomfield, who he co-founded the Flag with.

Nick wrote Born In Chicago for the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and later won a Blues Hall of Fame award for it in 2003. He worked with Paul Butterfield, Janice Joplin, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Quick Silver Messenger Service, John Cipollina, Mike Bloomfield, Charlie Musselwhite and many others. He co-founded the Electric Flag band in the mid-sixties with Bloomfield. He has performed with his band and others in the San Francisco Bay Area for the last 60+ years.
