Painting from photo references is a great way to get inspired! I've learned recently that my paintings don't need to look 100% like the reference picture. This change helps me use more artistic intuition to paint expressively and focus on part of an image that cameras tend to miss. No one is grading you on if your painting matches your reference pic perfectly, so use that freedom to make changes to your paintings that help it look more cohesive as a painting and not a photo!
