VN24 - 01/21/2022 - Holzwickede / Germany - A dump truck loaded with mineral mixture (gravel) was traveling northbound on Schwerter Straße shortly after the Talstraße junction in the midday hours around 12:30 p.m. when the driver apparently had to avoid an oncoming vehicle. He drove with the right wheels onto the totally unpaved shoulder. There the wheels sank in immediately and the driver could not bring the truck on the roadway any more. As a result, the dump truck slid further and further into the ditch and finally lay on its side. For the following salvage, the dump body first had to be shoveled empty with an excavator. After that, a towing company put the crashed dump truck back on the road with the help of two recovery vehicles. The truck was then towed to a workshop for repairs. The driver did not sustain any injuries.
