Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday in French) is a Catholic celebration of the last day eating fatty rich food before Ash Wednesday and the fasting season.

In the USA Mardi Gras is most popular in New Orléans and many believe it to be the origin of the Mardi Gras carnival but in fact it was brought by French Settler in the 1700s.
