This without doubt, is the best whale watching trip we've ever been on! We see 2 humpback whales breaching numerous times and turning on their backs whilst flapping and slapping down their pectoral fins. An awesome sight! We came across a pod of 7 Orcas too, but they were more elusive showing only their dorsal fins. So this video is all about the Humpbacks and features seals and sea lions too on a rocky island.
We'd booked a last minute trip on our last whole day in Vancouver with 'Wild Whales' Tours. Travelling out from English Bay, Vancouver across to the Straits of Georgia mid-way between the mainland and Vancouver Island for 3-4 hours on a fast Zodiac boat. Anyway a great tour by 'Wild Whales' of Vancouver.

Once there, I realised one of my Fuji XT3 cameras with long lens, had been left in our hotel room and the other in my bag with me had full memory cards - Aaaargh! A stupid rookie mistake, you'd never believe I was a pro photographer! But, we were in a rush to get down to Granville Island, just making the tour with minutes to spare!

So everything you see on this video was shot on my iPhone 14 Pro in 4K, as thankfully I hadn't left that behind!!!

For 3 weeks, we travelled through Banff National Park, Alberta, Yoho National Park and British Columbia to Vancouver. Then, a cruise to the Hubbard Glacier in Alaska, visiting Sitka, Juneau and Ketchikan. Then back to Vancouver for an Epic Whale watching trip!!
