Clerkenwell is one of London's ancient parishes, dating all that way back to medieval history, but you won't find it on a tube map. It's been the home of many communities who have come and gone, and was once the city's Little Italy in the 1800s. Today, it's a leafy, cosmopolitan oasis that breaks up the hustle and bustle of commuter hotspots like Farringdon and St Pancras with parks, churches, and cafes and outdoor seating.

Of the many landmarks in the area is Exmouth Market, a pedestrianised road that's full of places to eat and drink. Despite its proximity to central London, it feels closer to somewhere like Walthamstow village, and is a place where Korean tea shops and traditional British pubs sit side by side like it's the most natural thing in the world.

This walk starts at Sessions House on Clerkenwell Green. It moves past St James's Church through Victorian streets to the London Metropolitan Archives and the Spa Fields Park. From there, we head to Farringdon Road and to the Royal Mail facility Mount Pleasant, which was once one of the largest sorting offices globally, before moving onto Exmouth Market. Before ending the video, we'll also go to Wilmington Square and Spa Green, before stopping at Sadler's Wells Theatre near Angel.
