Oxfam India and Livpure Foundation have installed water filtration units in 49 acute flood and cyclone prone villages of coastal Odisha. These two-tank filter models, run on electricity and solar energy, filters 3360 litres of water every day. It removes iron contaminants, bacteria and improves the quality of water. This is a community-owned model where users are involved from the beginning and take up the operation and management roles, coordinating with Panchayats and service providers (RWSS).
