Benjamin Franklin was one of the foremost of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America, best known for being the only Founding Father to have signed all four of the key documents that established the U.S, including the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Known also for being an inventor, scientist and philanthropist, his inventions such as the lightning rod, the catheter and bifocal glasses are still in use today.
