“Far from home” is a military march, written in 1870 by German soldier Kurt Moser, under the title “Fern bei Sedan” (“Far in Sedan”). The tune’s composer is unknown.
Sung by both French and German militaries during Word War II, this march received French lyrics, written by Georges Fleury, during the Algerian War.
