« Le Chant des Partisans » is the anthem of the French Resistance during World War II. The music was composed in 1941 in London by Russian singer Anna Marly, on a text in her native language. Original French lyrics were written by Joseph Kessel and Maurice Druon in May 1943. The whistled tune became the musical theme of the broadcast “Honneur et Patrie” on the BBC and a sign of identification between Resistance fighters.
