兵庫県明石市は神戸市西部に隣接する人口約30万人の中核市。日本の標準時を示す子午線が貫いていたり、今も美しい白壁と石垣を残す明石城跡、美しい海岸線や豊富な水揚げを誇る漁港など、その魅力を挙げれば枚挙にいとまがありません。そんな中、今回は400年の歴史を誇る海産物を中心とした商店街、「魚の棚」を散策しました。明石漁港で水揚げされる天然の明石鯛、タコ、穴子をはじめとする様々なグルメや明石ならではの風物がぎっしりと詰まっていて魅力がいっぱい。

Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture is a core city adjacent to the western part of Kobe City with a population of approximately 300,000 people. There are too many attractions to list, such as the meridian that marks Japan's standard time running through it, the ruins of Akashi Castle, which still has its beautiful white walls and stone walls, the beautiful coastline, and the fishing port that boasts an abundant catch. Meanwhile, this time we took a stroll through Uo no Tana, a shopping street centered on seafood that boasts a 400-year history. It is filled with a variety of gourmet foods, including natural Akashi sea bream, octopus, and conger eel caught at Akashi Fishing Port, as well as a variety of local delicacies unique to Akashi.
