I've been using the 1 subject 100 page CVS Caliber notebooks (college ruled 7 mm) for a few years now and I love them for process style journaling + note-taking because they hold almost all fountain pen inks without bleed thru. In this video I show that they also hold water from a water brush and you can use both sides with some water added with very minimal bleed back/seepage! This video is mainly a demonstration but I also show the other varieties of the paper: several sizes of notebooks, writing tablet, composition book and the filler paper packs.
I got this notebook with my own money for $5.79. Ordinarily, I stock up all at once during their buy 1 get one 1/2 off sales.
This is probably the longest video I ever did and I realized later that the slower process of mind mapping caused the slow down. So here are the main points pro and con about this notebook:
PRO:
affordable (not cheap, not expensive)
very fountain pen friendly both sides
does very well with water brush
pocket is great feature!
variety of sizes/styles
unique "made in Vietnam" paper
CON
not available easily in all countries
limited online availability - this is more of a stateside in person purchase
spiral is okay and functional for sure + sturdy but I prefer a double ring spiral
So, hopefully this will show you how hearty this paper really is for a realistic workbook style brainstorm project and notetaking. I really like it and hope it's always available.
