Why do tomatoes stay green on the vine & how does a gardener ensure they have vine ripened tomatoes all summer long? In this video we get into the science of exactly where tomatoes get their red colour. And what you can do as a gardener to ensure that the red tomatoes you dream about will soon be on your table. Red tomatoes are dependent on the growing conditions around them, if the temperatures are not exact then you simply may need to wait. or watch this video for other solutions you way want to try. Vine tomatoes are so heavily sought after that due to their flavour, texture and overall appearance but sometimes mother nature has different plants when she refuses to change you tomatoes from green to red.
