The Battle of Front Royal was critical in the Civil War. This video will take you to some of the major sites of the battle and give you the history of the main characters. This is also a site on the Civil War Trails tour.

If you are planning a Civil War RV Trip, this is a very RV Friendly Community. If you are visiting Washington D. C. (about an hour away) this is a great place to park your RV and explore. In addition to the Civil War History, there are Museums and Archives available for real Civil War buffs.

Front Royal is also the gateway to the Shenandoah River Valley, the Skyline Trail, and the Appalachian Trail. There are incredible outdoor activities for the family like hiking, biking, canoeing, rafting, fishing, and camping. See the links below for resources to help plan a trip.
