To be eligible to apply for the AMEX Morgan Stanley Platinum card, we’re going to open a Morgan Stanley Access Investing Account.

I recently opened a Morgan Stanley Access Investing account myself and realized along the way, that this process was not as straightforward as I expected it to be, so I’m going to walk you through what I did, and hopefully make this experience much easier for you.

Once the Access Investing account is funded with at least $5,000, you now can open up the American Express Morgan Stanley Platinum card. The benefits of this card as compared to the classic American Express Platinum Card would be the new signup bonus if you haven’t had this card already as well as getting a free authorized user, which would normally cost $175 per year. In addition, you have the opportunity to qualify for an engagement bonus of $695 per year if you also decide to open up a Platinum CashPlus Account with Morgan Stanley.
