Alice Guy-Blaché was an incredibly important filmmaker and a pioneer of the early days of cinema, only to end up forgotten by the very industry she helped create. Well... not on our watch. Not. Forgotten.
During the research for this video I stumbled upon some pretty good books and documentaries, so if you are interested and want to learn more about the story, you should definitely check them out:
"Alice Guy Blaché: Lost Visionary of the Cinema", book by Alison McMahan
"The Lost Garden", documentary by Marquise Lepage
"Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blaché", documentary by Pamela B. Green
"The Biography of the Motion Picture Camera", documentary by Roger Leenhardt
....and countless newspaper articles and archives I could get my hands on.
