This song is one that I wrote in which I hope that it helps to encourage someone that feels like they can't get a break in life. We know the history of America and the types of injustices that were brought on black people. Through my journey in life, I've had to fight in order to overcome a lot of the things that have plagued my community for decades. I did take the path of the streets at one point. Though I regret a lot the things that took place, I realize how thankful I am to have had a tougher route. Things that don't kill you, only build you up as long as you can learn from them. As black people, the system has placed things in our way in order to keep us down, but we will always fight to over those things. We need to continue to strive to do better. If you decide not to do better, the results are on you. We've been down WAY TOO LONG, and its time to get up!
