A long time ago, a little boy lived with his mother and father in a small house that was made of wood. His family was very poor. His father worked as a woodcutter, and his mother sewed clothes for wealthy people in the city. They lived in a wooden house in the middle of a large forest in northern Samara.

One morning, after a very bad night, the boy woke up and found his father looking at him. "Is there anything you want?" his father asked.
