The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.

The Public Assistance (PA) branch provides assistance for debris removal, emergency protective measures, and the repair, replacement, or restoration of disaster-damaged, publicly owned facilities and facilities. They also encourage protection of these damaged facilities from future events by providing for hazard mitigation measures during the recovery process. Public Assistance is seeking candidates who are eager to serve communities of disaster survivors as Reservist employees.
