I visited Katsura Rikyu, which is said to be the masterpiece and culmination of Japanese gardens!
I went to Katsura Rikyu after reading a post on a social networking site that said it was most beautiful in mid-April.

The fresh greenery and the red of the Kirishima azaleas were beautiful and colorful.

The garden was originally built to recreate the life of aristocrats in the Heian period (794-1185), and this is where they would have watched the moon and recited poems.
The garden is also designed with hedges and height differences so that you can't see the next view, which is a trick to make you suddenly change the scenery and lose sight of the previous garden.

It was a pity that it was cloudy, but it was still beautiful enough.
I would like to visit again when the leaves change and the sky is clear!

Admission to Katsura-rikyu: 1,000 yen with a guide.
Reservations can be made from the first day three months in advance, but the application is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from 8:40 a.m. on the day of the visit, but we were able to get in rather easily.
