An exciting new initiative is under way around the world, to fix some of the most polluted parts of our planet.1000 rivers around the world are responsible for over 80% of the plastic pollution being dumped in our seas and oceans. However, there's a new generation on a mission to cut the flow of trash going out to sea, using incredible new autonomous solar powered technology made from recycled plastic and this technology is currently being employed with successful results. Every day around 8 million pieces of plastic make their way into our oceans and each year at least 14 million tons of plastic waste ends up in our seas. This is why the non profit called The Ocean Clean up has made it their job not only to remove plastic directly from the seas but also to stop plastic entering the sea from the source. They have been working hard since 2013 developing systems by trial and error to effectively and safely extract plastic pollution from our planets seas and rivers.
