This village has been a fishing village for 400 years since the Edo period.
The houses are built so that they are close to each other on the stairs, making the best use of the narrow land.
A maze of narrow alleys connect the houses.
The Tajiri village and this observatory are sacred places from the anime ``Free!''.
Tajiri Port has a large catch and a wide variety of seafood.
Iwami Town is said to have the highest catch of Matsuba crab (snow crab) in Japan.
This is the Uradome coast, which has been certified as a UNESCO Global Geopark.
It is an academically valuable landscape where you can see ancient crustal movements and the formation of the Japanese archipelago.
Next, take a look at Natane 5 islands.
It is said that in ancient times, these islands were originally a series of capes.
It is believed that several caves were formed on the cape by sea erosion, and eventually the ceilings of these caves collapsed and became lined with outlying rocks.
The largest off-shore island, Natane Island, is 60 meters high.
You can see yellow flowers blooming halfway up the cliff.
These yellow flowers are the wild rape blossoms that gave this island its name.
This area was also designated as a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2010.
The underlying theme of this geopark is "geology, natural environment, people's lives, and the formation of the Sea of Japan."
This geologically diverse region preserves records of the process from the time when Japan was part of the Asian continent to the formation of the Sea of Japan today.
