Ely station is located on the Fen line and serves as a major junction which links the major locations including Cambridge, Kings Lynn, Peterborough, Ipswich & Norwich. As well as the regular passenger and freight services, there were also many diversions from the East Coast Main Line making sure this station was not devoid of a train for longer than 5 minutes.
