Today we visit Ksar Hadada, a historic ksar in southern Tunisia, just north of Ghomrassen in Tataouine Governorate. On 10 August 1997 George Lucas and his team came here and filmed a scene for the film Star Wars Episode I – The Phantom Menace. In particular, the scene where the Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and Shmi Skywalker (mother of Anakin Skywalker) are discussing Anakin while walking around Ksar Hadada's porch areas, which act as the Mos Espa Slave Quarter on Tatooine. Meanwhile, Anakin works on his podracer, although that scene was filmed elsewhere. Come explore this incredible piece of Star Wars history with Mohamed and I!

I have been filming at all of Tunisia's incredible Star Wars locations in association with Galaxy Tours. Galaxy Tours is a private investment company committed to reshaping the Star Wars pilgrimage to Tunisia, the real-world Tatooine. They aim to preserve and promote all Star Wars film sites in Tunisia as historical landmarks of worldwide cultural value. The Galaxy Tours company website (https://galaxytours.com/) is the one-stop authoritative source on Star Wars franchise filming in Tunisia. They partner with Tunisian stakeholders to facilitate enduring gains for local economies rooted in sustainable tourism.
