Lightning strikes and sudden electrical surges can cause damage or even destroy your home's appliances and electronics. A surge protector is a relatively inexpensive "must-have" and can save you the expense of having to replace that flat screen television, computer, major appliance or lighting. This electrical project is simple enough for the DIYer who follows all safety precautions.

In Costa Rica, we can experience severe thunder and lightning storms during the rainy season. After a friend experienced the loss of rows of LED lighting in his home, we installed a surge protector to prevent any future damage.

Thanks for watching! I'm Terry Peterman, the Internet Electrician, and welcome to my channel. On this channel I teach DIYers how to safely and competently work on simple electrical projects around the home. I will teach you how to do it right, do it safely, and save money by doing it yourself.
