This week I sat down with pianist, composer, and producer Jon Cowherd ahead of his quartet debut at the Nashville Jazz Workshop this Friday June 7. Jon and I chatted about his recent move to Nashville after 30 years in New York City, how his love and appreciation for a wide array of music has influenced him creatively, and Jon told us about some of some of the music he’s written for Friday’s show, including how he likes to approach free jazz.
