Megan-Claire Chase had a family history of cancer and always had a feeling that she would get cancer, specifically ovarian or cervical. She faced several health issues, including abnormal pap smears and weight gain, which she felt could be signs of cancer. However, doctors initially dismissed her concerns and advised her to lose weight and eat better. Eventually, she discovered a lump in her breast and was diagnosed with stage 2A invasive lobular breast cancer at 39.

She then underwent 16 rounds of chemotherapy, experiencing various side effects such as hair loss, mouth sores, and severe reactions. In this story, she shares her challenges with insurance coverage and financial stress related to her treatments and emphasizes the need for open communication with healthcare professionals and stresses the importance of asking questions, writing down concerns and bringing someone to appointments.
