In part 2 Miguel and I talk about the following issues we dealt as we grew up with a schizophrenic mum:

Painful, embarrassing and difficult experiences in public spaces.
Difficulty in accepting our mother’s illness and fate. We would often ask ourselves why it had to be our mothers.
The importance of teachers noticing drastic changes in behavior and performance in students and following up on cases.
The importance of counseling and psycho education for children who have a mentally ill parent.
How draining it is to deal with mentally ill parent’s episodes. It leaves the children depleted with no energy for school assignments.
