The upper canine tooth is typically the last tooth to erupt in the mouth. Sometimes there is a delay in this tooth erupting and surgical uncovering is needed. In our office I can perform this procedure quickly and easily using the Ellman Radiosurgery unit without the patient having to see another specialist. This video shows me removing removing the soft tissue around a delayed cuspid after I numbed the area. Her delayed cuspid will no longer delay her orthodontic treatment! I also use this procedure to perform cosmetic gum recontouring on our orthodontic patients to reduce a "gummy" looking smile or to reduce excessive gum tissue. Patients will leave with straight teeth and attractive gums!
