This before and after Invisalign video shows how I engineer the movement of teeth for deep bite problems. You will notice that the computer simulation shows quite a large overjet (protrusions)of her upper teeth. I deliberately planned this. Why? Because I have been moving teeth with braces and aligners in my office for a long time, I know that computer simulations don't always translate into actual results for my patients. The original Invisalign setup by the lab technician would not have achieved the result I wanted. After a number of revisions and communication with the technicians at the Invisalign lab in Costa Rica I setup the case to achieve my goal for this patient to close her disatema (space) and correct her severe overbite. Without correcting the overbite the space would have been difficult to close. To maintain her new smile, we bonded fixed "permanent" retainers in the top and bottom in addition to removeable retainers.
