Everyone is familiar with the nylon shower sponge, which is gathered into a ball using a special technology and tied with a rope in the middle. Its main problem is that it can bloom.
How many times have I watched the video of how it is very quickly twisted and assembled on two sticks, nothing is clear, sleight of hand, that’s probably why the rope breaks - they are in a big hurry.
This washcloth, if it is reassembled and tied with its original rope, will not hold, no matter how many times I have tried it. Therefore there are two options:
Throw it away and buy a new one;
Use it for other needs;
The mesh is made of durable, wear-resistant material that is resistant to mechanical stress, so I’ll use it to make a necessary item for the kitchen, namely sponges for washing dishes. But it turned out that it was not so simple. The mesh is very springy and does not straighten out at all. If you stretch it, it contracts again like an accordion.
The problem was solved by using an iron and ironing the mesh through gauze.
I got 3 types of sponges.
I folded the mesh in several layers and rolled it into a neat rectangle.
Stitched on four sides. On one side, I inserted a loop of strong rope to hang on the tap.
This sponge washes any dishes well, especially those with dried-on food; the water drains quickly, which promotes quick drying.
For this sponge I used fabric: cotton and terry.
Between them I put a mesh from a washcloth in two layers and stitched on all sides, leaving room for turning.
Then I turned it inside out and stitched it.
I rolled the net several times, folded it in half and tied it in the middle with a rope.
Together with cleaning products, these sponges can work wonders. They will not only wash the dishes, but also clean the bathroom, sink, stove, and tiles.
The net will help remove dirt from vegetables. The remains of a washcloth can be used as a net for storing onions and garlic; flower bulbs are well stored in them. There they will be provided with high-quality air exchange.
If you fold the mesh in several layers into a long rectangle of 10x40 cm, stitch it, and sew loops along the edges, you will get a long washcloth.
Thus, the loose mesh turned out to be useful in everyday life and there are many ways to use it again in a different capacity.
