Our Electric towel rails are filled with pure water ( Reverse osmosis ) + inhibitor and silencer chemicals.

We do also leave expansion air gap on top of the towel rail and this expansion air must be bleed on the first heat. In this video you can see the internal pressure from expansion is getting higher as element heats the filling medium. Goes up to almost 1 bar pressure when it was heated in full.

If electric towel rails (filled ones not dry electric versions) not bleeded on the first heat, this expansion air will increase and decrease the pressure and may result leaking from the joints of the bars.
