I would like to take this opportunity to make an announcement regarding the recent general meeting held by the Austin Deaf Club. During the meeting, members approved an increase in membership dues.

For some time, all members have been paying $100 annually for membership dues. This amount has now been raised to $125. The reason for this increase is tied to the Austin Deaf Club's 5-year Business Plan, spanning from 2021 to 2026. As we approach 2026, less than two years from now, our plan outlines necessary renovations and improvements, which are expected to cost at least $10,000. Unfortunately, we cannot afford to cover these costs without the additional funds. We determined that an increase in membership dues would help cover the renovation expenses. It will require all members to come together as a team to make this happen.

Typically, the $100 membership dues cover operational expenses, including bills, electricity, water, insurance, staff salaries, and more. By adding $25 to the membership dues, we aim to generate the necessary revenue to fund the renovation costs and fulfill the goals of our 2021-2026 Business Plan. When we receive your $125 membership dues, $100 will go toward operational expenses, and $25 will be allocated to the renovation fund. It's crucial to maintain and improve our environment, which is why these renovations are so important.

We understand that some of you may be facing financial challenges. Therefore, we are offering four payment plan options:

You can choose how you'd like to pay your membership dues monthly. PayPal and Zelle offer more flexible options, allowing you to pay at least $25+ per month for five months to cover the dues. However, please note that there will be a fee, bringing the monthly payment to $27. If you prefer, you can pay in varying amounts, such as $50 this month, $50 next month, and $25 in the following month, until the dues are fully paid. Just be sure to communicate with our membership coordinator to explain your payment plan. We are more than willing to work with you to accommodate your needs.
