On August 2nd and 3rd, 2024, the African Climate Reality Project, SACAN, and Global Shapers Tshwane Hub hosted the Local Conference of Youth South Africa.

The event focused on capacitating youth in climate policy, finance, and the Just Transition, while co-creating the "Youth Position on the Just Transition." This statement will not only be presented at COP29 but will also be part of a global synthesis of youth climate policy demands coordinated by YOUNGO, the official children and youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
