*It has been rumored for a long time that Steven Spielberg directed Poltergeist and used Tobe Hooper as a ghost director - get it "ghost" / "poltergeist" :) It's debatable how much influence Spielberg had on Hooper since it has been 30 years since the film was made; but cast and crew members have said that Spielberg was on the set nearly every day and story boarded every scene.
