About the talk:
Steve Jobs said it about the E-Mail - he had seen the revolution with his own eyes. The revolution being the transformation of the way in which we communicate and collaborate nowadays.

Digital tools, cloud software and modern technology has uprooted traditional forms of communication, allowing for far more flexibility, regularity and reachability within organisations and teams. They are a central component to the New Work movement and in allowing us the freedom to work more autonomously, collaborate more effectively and remain connected and up-to-date on team projects without having to rely solely on face-to-face communication.

But the tools themselves do not provide these solutions. They make this new way of working possible, but it is the people, the implemented structures and strategies that go hand-in-hand with these tools, that make this new way of communicating feasible and effective.

This talk explores the fundamentals of communication, the complexities of human interaction and collaboration and why these interactions can’t simply be replaced by digital communication tools. Most importantly, Christoph details what is needed in order to facilitate new forms of communication (usually accompanying new work tools) and why laying these foundational strategies at the point of implementation is fundamental to the success of the overall transformation. At the core of this transformation remains the human element, a factor that we can’t and shouldn’t ignore when trying to transform the way we work.
