Sea of Cortez beach camping in Baja California MX!! We are beginner film making-explorers setting out from Los Angeles with a loose goal to reach Playa Balandra, Baja Sur. This video captures our first 5 days, and covers 2 spots on our way down south. We first stop to camp on the west-Pacific side near Pueblo Zapata which is about 3 hours from the Tijuana/San Diego boarder. We then cross to the east (about 6 hours later) and reach the incredible Sea of Cortez! We spend time in Campo Archealon, which is a gem for eco campers!

Please bear with us, our story telling will get better! But for now, here is some helpful information we left out:

This trip occurred in June of 2020. The weather around this time is extremely hot and got increasingly humid as we traveled south. Surprisingly the north-west part of Baja (where were first stayed) was windy and got fairly cold at night with average highs of 78°F (25°C) and lows of 60°F (16°C). In contrast, Bahia de Los Angeles was SO hot that we had to dip into the water in the middle of the night just to cool down. In the day we were in the high 90's °F (32's °C) while at night in the low 80's °F (26's °C). If you love swimming- being able to dip in at literally any time of day was incredible.
ALSO we were not able to film this at night, so we didn't mention it, but there was a great presence of PHYTOPLANKTON during this time.

Our spot in Emiliano Zapata is no longer there, but we highly encourage you to checkout some new airbnb spots around this area- it's a nice even break in the drive.
